Julie's husband Todd Chrisley has also commented on the decision, saying, "Julie is a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. We are all elated by this news."
The Chrisleys were convicted in June 2022 of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, bank fraud, and tax fraud. They were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison. However, their appeals process has been ongoing, and the recent ruling represents a significant step forward in their efforts to clear their names.
The court's decision does not mean that the Chrisleys are completely exonerated. They could still face retrial on the same charges. However, the overturned conviction is a major setback for the prosecution and could potentially lead to a plea deal or a lesser sentence if a retrial does occur.
